Warmer weather is on its way and I needed a five-day outdoor spring cleaning checklist to help get things in order. Staying on task seems to be one of my shortcomings and checklist always helps me get things done. I had to get started. As driving up to my house was continually making me sad.

Yes, gurl sadder then staying in the house for over 30 days with 5 kiddos. I already went through the house and did a major declutter. Some tips for decluttering (here)

We ended up with bagworms last year; have you heard of them? (I hadn’t until I moved from Detroit to Indiana) that still has our evergreens looking a little crazy. So this year I wanted to get in front of the spring cleaning so those creepy crawlers didn’t take over.

Let’s Get To It:

This 5-day outdoor cleaning checklist, will have you right on task No matter how big or small your outdoor space is keeping it clean gives you major curb appeal. It’s also one of the major points of your home that people get to see.

There are so many things that you can do to make your outdoor space feel like a place you want to be. But, we’ll start with getting it ready for planting and playing first.

A Quick List:

Over the winter months our lawn, light fixtures, and patio furniture can build a thick layer of dirt and grime. Here are a few quick things that will get you on your way.

  • Walk the home’s exterior
  • Clean the yard
  • Power wash
  • Wash Windows
  • Prune trees and shrubs

These are some quick things to get you started but, if you’re looking to really spend some time outside you can print the detailed checklist below.

I hope this helps you get the yard in order. I know that I’ll be on the patio and in the yard for the next couple of weeks. If you want to follow along I’ll be posting and updating you on my IG: TheAll PurposeWoman. Please tag me in your updates and send me some tips and tricks on spring cleaning.

Pro Mom Cleaning Tip:

If you have littles like me ( we have five daughters) giving them a task in the spring cleaning helps achieve ownership of keeping the yard clean. My girls love to check things off my todo list as helpers. It gives both my teens and toddlers a smile.

Also, gathering supplies early that you will need for clean up, will minimize the back and forth to the garage and beyond. Some of the typical things that you’ll need are trash bags, water hose and recycle/fertilizer bins.

Future Outdoor Spring Cleaning checklist Fun:

We know that being cooped up in the house over the winter months and this year even that was extended.

I wanted to give myself something to look forward to after getting my outdoor spring cleaning done. Why? Because, why not treat yourself to wishful thinking for your hard work?

With my five girls being a wide array of ages, we have to make good use of outdoor space. A couple of future goals we have are hanging lights on the deck, planting a garden and putting some more annuals out.

These are just some projects we’ll have be working on over the summer.

I used this checklist, Its Time To Get Your House Together to get the house in order, let me know what you think of this as well.
