Pregnancy and weight gain don’t just go together; they are stuck together like peanut butter and jelly. It’s considered healthy for you to gain weight while carrying a life. Of course, it’s just how much you gain and how fast you gain weight.

Every mom wants to make sure the baby is nice and healthy. With this being my sixth pregnancy ( Yes, you read that right) I have to think about my body as I’ve already gained so much weight over the years.

When I was asked to review an advance copy of Joel Marion’s book, “Always Eat After 7pm”. I was ready. Excited to put the recipes and daily routines to the test for the health of myself and our new bundle. Food is my favorite pass time and I want to use it to my advantage this time around.

Joel, has a full story behind him, this motivated me. After, gaining 50lbs himself and working hard to lose it he decided it was time to share his story. It’s always nice to learn from someone that really understands what your feeling.

I’ve gained more than 50 lbs over the years, during my first couple of pregnancies I gained the most weight Increasing my weight to over 200 lbs, which isn’t easy to even type.

But, we are going in the right direction this time around. I am thankful for being on the shortlist of participants in this life-changing book.

Learning about Joel, made me put some goals on paper. Writing these out will help hold myself accountable. I’m going to try to maintain these while moving through the book. I would definitely suggest writing some goals out so we can hold each other accountable.

In reading the book it seems the shift will be easy, the diet doesn’t keep a lot from you. And gives you so many suggestions in substitutions to eat during my night time cravings.

  1. Gaining 20lbs or less while pregnant.
  2. Make sure to eat healthy snacks.
  3. Eat meals that will keep me full longer.

I think these are things that I can manage. 🙂

What do I want to take from this?

I want to be present with the food I eat. I know that sounds weird but I really want to be conscious of what I am putting in my body. I also want to know not only what ingredients I’m putting in my body and what they will do for me. Food has benefits and I want to take part in the good ones. This books will help me to understand eating WHOLE meals and snacks when my body is the most depleted.
